VIDEO: Student’s dream to play with Billy Joel comes true

Billy Joel made a college student’s dream come true by performing onstage with him in Nashville.

The “Uptown Girl” hitmaker was holding a question and answer session with pupils at Vanderbilt University in January when Michael Pollack asked if he could play “New York State of Mind” with the singer.

Joel sang the tune as Pollack, 18, played along on the piano – and the star was clearly impressed with the teenager’s talent.

He told the audience, “Remember that name. Guy’s got chops (talent).”

Speaking about the impromptu performance, Pollack told the university’s student paper, The Vanderbilt Hustler, “It was probably the greatest moment of my life, up to date.”
