Brandy is set to welcome in 2013 with a ring on her finger after accepting a proposal from music executive Ryan Press.

Reports suggest the 33 year old agreed to become Mrs. Press earlier this month, but the couple waited until Christmas to go public with the happy news.

Brandy recently told Us Weekly magazine that Press was her perfect guy, revealing, “I had given up on love a long time ago. It just didn’t seem to work for me, so I was single for a very long time. I stopped looking for love and then I ran into my boyfriend.”

“He just loves me for who I am. I don’t have to camouflage anything for him or put on a mask. I can completely be myself and he loves me so much and I love him just the way he is, too.”

This will be the singer’s first real marriage – she lied about a union with ex-boyfriend Robert Smith a decade ago when she found herself pregnant with his daughter, Sy’rai.

She later confessed, “I lied because of the fear of what people would think and the pressure to be a good role model. Our relationship was very real – we just weren’t legally married.”
