Here’s a look at the latest recalls.

2 DEATHS PROMPT BEAN BAG CHAIR RECALL

More than 2 million bean bag chairs manufactured by Ace Bayou are being recalled after two children died while using the furniture.

Officials say the zippers on the bean bag chairs can be opened and children can then crawl inside, get trapped and suffocate, or choke on the chair’s foam beads.

A 13-year old boy from McKinney, Texas died and a 3-year-old girl from Lexington, Ky. died after suffocating from lack of air and inhaling the chair’s foam beads. Both children were found inside the chairs, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The chairs were sold online and through nationwide retailers, including Walmart. Consumers should stop using the product and contact the manufacturer for a free repair kit.

HP RECALLS 6M POWER CORDS

Hewlett-Packard is recalling about 6 million computer power cords after 29 reports of the cords melting or charring, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday.

The recalled item, the LS-15 AC power cord, was distributed with Hewlett-Packard and Compaq notebook and mini notebook computers and with AC adapter-powered accessories such as docking stations, the commission said in a statement. The Palo Alto, California-based company has received 29 reports of cords overheating and melting or charring. There have been two claims of minor burns and 13 claims of minor property damage, the commission’s statement said.

HP offered on Tuesday to replace all affected cords and apologized to customers.

CONVERTIBLE CRIBS RECALLED BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERN

Bexco is recalling children’s 4-in-1 convertible cribs because the front can separate from the side panels and create a hazardous gap that can allow a child to fall out or become entrapped between the front and side panels.

Parents should stop using the crib immediately and contact the company for a free repair kit.

SPIDERS FORCE SUZUKI RECALL

Spiders have forced Suzuki to recall more than 19,000 midsize cars. The automaker says spider webs can clog a fuel vapor vent hose in some 2010 to 2013 Kizashi cars, cutting off air flow. If that happens, it can cause the gas tank to deform, causing cracks, fuel leaks and possible fires.

The recall was prompted by seven reports of the problem. Service centers will replace the vent line with one that has a filter on the end. The company says in documents filed with safety regulators that the problem hasn’t caused any accidents or injuries in the U.S.

Owners will be notified this month.
