Justin Bieber was threatened with arrest by airport police when his entourage was detained in Australia on suspicion of drug offenses, according to a new report.

The singer and his associates were stopped by members of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) after flying into Brisbane International Airport as part of the Baby star’s Believe world tour.

Two sniffer dogs reportedly targeted the group’s luggage, and one of Bieber’s crew, an unnamed 23-year-old man, was allegedly caught carrying cannabis. The traveler was ordered to appear in court to answer a charge of importing a border-controlled drug – named as cannabis – into the country.

An AFP spokeswoman confirmed the incident to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, and also revealed a 19-year-old male – later identified as Bieber – was given a verbal warning following a conversation with a female customs officer.

The newspaper reports the star refused to remove his hat and sunglasses during an inspection, and also allegedly made an insulting remark, prompting police to threatened him with arrest if he failed to curb his bad behavior.

The group was detained for around two hours, and Bieber, 19, was later released without charge.

The news is the latest blow for Bieber on his beleaguered Australian tour, during which he has been accused of leaving his young fans waiting for hours by showing up late for his gigs. He also incurred the wrath of the Gold Coast Mayor after he was caught spray-painting graffiti on a wall in the grounds of the hotel where he was staying.
