The Foo Figthers have thrilled their South African fans by announcing they will perform in the country for the first time in their 20-year career.

The “Everlong” hitmakers will play in Cape Town on Dec. 10, followed by Johannesburg three days later

In a video uploaded on Twitter.com, frontman Dave Grohl says, “Hey South Africa, my name’s Dave. I play in a band called the Foo Fighters. We’ve never met, so we’re coming down to see you in December. Got a new record to play for you too. Guess what? It’s going to be a long (expletive) night.”

The band’s eighth album “Lanterns” is due for release later this year.
