Project Suds

Project Suds meets every Tuesday morning at the Super Saver Laundry, located at 655 Liberty Street in Springfield. We would like our veterans to arrive at 8:30a so that they can enjoy a hot breakfast sandwich and coffee. You don’t need to bring anything with you except your laundry. We provide coins, laundry detergent, stain remover, and fabric softener.

How you can help:
Donations of personal care items, non-perishable canned food, new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, and fabric softener can be made to American Legion Auxiliary Hampden County District 3 in Chicopee.

Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) Heart Gallery Exhibit

The MARE Heart Gallery travels across the state to raise awareness of adoption from foster care and to recruit families for the hundreds of children in need of adoption. volunteer photographers donate their time and talent to photograph these children and teens. A wide range of youth are featured in the exhibit. Since 2005, MARE has featured over 350 children in the Heart Gallery exhibit. Nearly half of those photographed children have been matches with permanent adoptive families.

Holiday Craft Fair

The Holiday Craft Fair , sponsored annually by the St. Catherine of Siena Women’s Guild, will be held Saturday, November 1st from 9a to 4p at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Center. Holiday and decorative crafts from dozens of area crafters will be featured along with a Chinese Auction, game room, baked goods, hot lunch and much, much more! Admission is free!

Fight for Air Climbs are the American Lung Association’s most unique fundraisers. Climbs take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve walking, running or racing up hundreds of steps. Sometimes called a “vertical road race”, teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends.

Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Stuffing the Pantry 5K Road Race

The third annual Stuffing the Pantry 5K road race and two-mile walk will be held on Thanksgiving morning at 8 o’clock at Lenox/American Saw at 301 Chestnut St. in East Longmeadow. Last year’s event drew over 600 participants.

This event benefits the Open Pantry, a greater Springfield, non-profit organization which assists people who are hungry, homeless or disadvantaged to improve the quality of their lives. All proceeds from the Stuffing the Pantry 5K run and walk go directly to the Open Pantry.

Put your turkey in the oven, put on your running shoes and come on out on our national day of giving thanks to help our neighbors in need.
