Project Suds

Project Suds meets every Tuesday morning at the Super Saver Laundry, located at 655 Liberty Street in Springfield. We would like our veterans to arrive at 8:30a so that they can enjoy a hot breakfast sandwich and coffee. You don’t need to bring anything with you except your laundry. We provide coins, laundry detergent, stain remover, and fabric softener.

How you can help:
Donations of personal care items, non-perishable canned food, new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, and fabric softener can be made to American Legion Auxiliary Hampden County District 3 in Chicopee.

East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation Silent Auction

The East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation is holding a silent auction at East Longmeadow High School on Thanksgiving Day during the East Longmeadow vs Longmeadow Varsity Football Game. Over 100 items have been donated by local businesses and are up for bid.  All money raised will be used for scholarships for East Longmeadow Students.  Start your Christmas shopping and support our cause.

Stuffing the Pantry 5K Road Race

The third annual Stuffing the Pantry 5K road race and two-mile walk will be held on Thanksgiving morning at 8 o’clock at Lenox/American Saw at 301 Chestnut St. in East Longmeadow. Last year’s event drew over 600 participants.

This event benefits the Open Pantry, a greater Springfield, non-profit organization which assists people who are hungry, homeless or disadvantaged to improve the quality of their lives. All proceeds from the Stuffing the Pantry 5K run and walk go directly to the Open Pantry.

Put your turkey in the oven, put on your running shoes and come on out on our national day of giving thanks to help our neighbors in need.

Winter Music Jam

On December 20th from 5:30 to midnight in the Mass Mutual Center Ballroom, there will be a fantastic holiday rock show, prime rib dinner and benefit for wounded veterans!

Jeff Pitchell and Texas Flood, FAT and The Curtis Mayflower Band will be performing.

Tickets are $50.00 in advance and $60.00 at the door. They are available at Falcetti’s Music on Boston Road and online at FreshTix.com.
Included in the price of admission will be a prime rib dinner and appetizers. There will be a full cash bar.

Railroad Hobby Show

Every year, the Amherst Railway Society holds its Railroad Hobby Show at the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds (The home of The Big E) in West Springfield Massachusetts. More than 25,000 railfans and public attended the Show each of the past three years.
The event features real life railroads and scale model railroads, historical societies, travel agencies, art shows, flea market dealers, importers, manufacturers and photographers. Modelers’ exhibits will display outstanding handiwork on layouts ranging from the tiny Z scale which fits on a coffee table to a monster 80 foot N-Trak system.
